On September 22, 1986, the doors of Steve Quick Jewelr opened at 5 N. Wabash. We began as a micro-business with 3 showcases in 280 square feet. At slow times Steve would hit the streets to hand out flyers. The business quickly outgrew the mindset and small confines of its Jewelers Row locale. In 1988 we reopened in Lincoln Park. In the late 1980's, Steve Quick was commissioned by Macy's to conduct Estate Jewelry Trunk Shows which he continued to do for four years. You can still see an emphasis on antique jewlery in all our stores today. By the late 1990s, the Steve Quick Jeweler brand of customer service caught on and business boomed. We built our reputation creating innovative custom pieces and completing repairs that less talented jewelers would not attempt. That meant being unafraid to remake pieces that turned out poorly elsewhere. And that is why we continue to be a full service jewelry business. In the age of specialization we could easily turn away the small and often difficult tasks. That is not who we are. In 2009, Steve Quick Jeweler expanded to its second location in Lincoln Square.
The Steve Quick name has become synonymous with quality and originality in design and craftsmanship. From a glittering pave Simon G ring to a hand fabricated (and eco-conscious) Todd Reed original to the custom designed engagement ring you have long been dreaming of, we are your source. With our name comes the promise of exceptional customer service. Our friendly and knowledgeable GIA educated staff are here to guide you through choosing the perfect engagement ring, share the joy of choosing your wedding bands, celebrate your anniversaries and congratuate you on the birth of your first child. We are here to help you repair and repurpose heirloom jewelry and to carefully ensure the structure of the diamond studs you received on your wedding day. We are a business with a heart.
Twenty-seven years later, Steve Quick Jeweler is opening a third store in the vibrant Wicker Park neighborhood. Our full spectrum customer service oriented model in a convenient local location seems to be catching on.
Who knows, we may be neighbors soon. We look forward to serving you for many years to come.
